Funding assistance

There are various funding sources available for water-related projects in Victoria and Australia.

 

Smart Water Fund

 

Melbourne’s water businesses, South East Water, City West Water, Yarra Valley Water and Melbourne Water, together with the Victorian Government have established and jointly operate the Smart Water Fund.

 

The Fund presents opportunities to create and develop innovative water resource management programs and in particular encourages approaches to recycle water, biosolids and water savings for future urban, and environmental needs.

Stormwater and Urban Conservation Fund

 

This fund is supported by the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) and is targeted toward potable water substitution.

Aimed at enhancing Victoria’s environmental sustainability, the Sustainability Fund encourages innovation or best practice in resource use.

Community Water Grants
 
Funded by the Australian Government, Community Water Grants are targeted toward wise water use in local communities. Industry is eligible if greater public good is demonstrated in water saving and efficiency, water recycling and treatment.

Sustainable Melbourne Fund
 
The Sustainable Melbourne Funds invests in projects to enhance the environmental, community and economic benefits for the people of Melbourne.  The Fund provides an option to finance water savings measures and to make repayments through an agreed Payment by Savings Plan.

Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry

 

Grow Me The Money is a FREE program open to all Victorian businesses interested in reducing resource consumption, improving environmental sustainability and saving money in the process. The program is run by the Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Envionment Protection Authority Victoria with funding from the Victorian State Government.
