South East Water offers businesses and councils a groundwater tankering service for irrigation use. Groundwater is not subject to water restrictions however it is a precious resource that should not be wasted.
What is groundwater?
Groundwater is sometimes referred to as bore water as it is obtained from beneath the earth and pumped to the surface through a pipe system called a bore. The groundwater we offer is sourced from the Lang Lang bore which is 80km from Melbourne's CBD.
How is it delivered?
There are two options:
1. South East Water will deliver the water by tanker directly to the customer; OR
2. The water can be collected by the customer in a tanker that will hold a minimum of 10,000 litres.
Deliveries: Monday to Saturday
How much does it cost?
Following are recommended retail prices that depend on distance.
Delivered
- 0-20kms radius $25 per kilolitre (kl)
- 20-50kms radius $32 per kl delivered
- 50-80kms radius $40 per kl delivered
- Further distances $ POA
Note: Maximum waiting and unloading time is 25 minutes. Additional charges of $40 will be incurred for each extra 15 minute block.
Collected
- $10 per kl for collected water - minimum 10,000 litre tanker
