The Showerhead Exchange Program is one of South East Water's many initiatives to encourage communities to learn more about water conservation, and save water in their homes, workplaces and schools.
Reducing Greenhouse Gasses
Not only will your new showerhead help you save water, it will also help you save energy. That is the energy you no longer need to use to heat your shower, as long as you don't shower for longer than before!
Because you use less energy, you reduce the amount of fossil fuels (coal or gas) that are burned to make that energy, meaning fewer greenhouse gases, and less impact on global warming.
So, by giving you a showerhead, South East Water is acting to reduce climate change and we'd like you to give us "credit" for the work we are doing.
These "credits" help us to offset the amount of greenhouse gas emissions we produce while delivering services to our customers and helping us to become a carbon neutral organisation. If a suitable carbon trading scheme becomes available in the future, we'll be able to trade these credits and put the funds towards finding more ways to save water and energy and to help the environment.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) Scheme
When replacing appliances choose the most water efficient products you can afford as outlined by the Water Efficient Labelling and Standards (WELS) Scheme. The WELS Scheme labels products for water efficiency, helping Australian households save water and money.
Based on the popular and recognisable Energy Rating and Labelling Scheme, the WELS labelling system rates and labels products using a star rating system - with six stars indicating the highest level of water efficiency.
For more information about the WELS scheme and available products visit www.waterrating.gov.au For more information on product standards and sourcing products that are WELS approved, please visit savewater.com.au
