Water Metering and Servicing Guidelines have been introduced to standardise processes and conditions across the Metropolitan Melbourne Water industry.
A review of the procedures and conditions imposed on developers and plumbers has taken place in line with the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission’s (VCEC) review into the water industry.
Following consultation with key industry stakeholders, submissions were received which then formed the basis for determining the specific procedures and conditions that needed review.
The review resulted in amendments to a number of procedures and conditions, to ensure consistency across Metropolitan Melbourne’s three water retailers. An agreement has been made to meet regularly to ensure policies, procedures and conditions remain consistent.
The guidelines will take effect from 01 July 2010 but customers can adopt the provisions of the guide immediately.
