The ongoing renewal and expansion of our sewerage network is delivering sustainable solutions for the growing population in Melbourne's south east.

Expansion

We continue to expand the capacity of our network to meet the ongoing challenge of population growth in our region. A key project underway in 2010-11 was the Pakenham to Narre Warren Sewage Transfer Scheme, which will meet demand from the booming Cardinia growth corridor.

Connecting the community

We work with communities to connect them to our sewerage network. This program continues to protect public health and the environment from failing household septic tanks. 25.2 km of sewer pipeline renewed

Renewal

In 2010-11, South East Water renewed 25.2 kilometres of sewer mains as part of our regular renewal program. This vital work ensures service reliability and reduces the risk of collapsing or failing sewer mains.
