Balnarring sets gold standard in water conservation

Staff and students at Balnarring Primary School were recognised for their to efforts to reduce water consumption and learn new ways to save water when the school was awarded Water – Learn it! Live it! gold accreditation on the 3rd of May 2011.  

Balnarring Primary School is the first school in the Mornington Peninsula Shire to reach gold accreditation in the program.  It becomes only the seventh school to reach this level out of the 100 schools committed to the program in the region of south-east Melbourne.

“Balnarring has taken their message of water conservation beyond the school gates, spreading the word of how they made their water savings through a documentary and a Primary Teachers Professional Learning activity involving other schools", commented Water – Learn it! Live it! Education Officer, Sophie Pritchard.
