The simplest and cheapest way to collect greywater.

Please note: Do NOT leave buckets or containers of water near young children.

South East Water recommends that customers take care when carrying buckets of water to minimise risk of injury or pain. For more information and tips visit the Australian Physiotherapy Website

DIY Diversion System
Permits are not required in sewered areas for these simple greywater diverters available at good hardware stores and water conservation retailers.
Diversion and Filtration System
These systems have a filter mechanism located outside the house. Permits are not required for a filtration system.
Diversion With Treatment System

Diversion and treatment systems are more complex and vary from highly mechanised systems, such as aerated wastewater treatment systems (AWTS), to sand filters. Council permits are required.
